I have an IBM T23 Laptop with the latest Bios October 2006

Harddrive: Seagate Momentus ST92811A 20GB 5400 RPM ATA-6

My sudo smartctl -d ata -a /dev/sda|grep Hours and even on Battery I was
going up at least a 100 per hour, I'm know at 85,578 Load Count

I tried this fix from http://blog.lynxworks.eu/?p=34
 /dev/sda {
  apm = 255
  spindown_time = 0
}

sudo update-rc.d hdparm defaults

That didn't fix it so I tired 244, no go..

I then tried a fix I saw on thinkwiki
sudo hdparm -B 254 /dev/sda

So far the count has finally stopped, hopefully this will stay, I really
can't afford to replace the HD right now.
