Actually I'm not using the nvidia driver from linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22 anymore, but the one provided by NVidia itself (v100.14.23). The problem still exists, which makes it either a general NVidia issue (but then much more people should be complaining) or an xorg issue. Since this is not clear yet, why did Timo change the source package?
