I'm also glad that you could help yourself for your case.
I put it on the general list of the team hoping one gets to it sooner.
Next step: repro the exact kind of snapshots and if/how they could be resumed
on latter qemu versions.
Fallback option: revise the old decision to drop old types and add them
back - at least for all coming versions maybe?
