FYI: PCManFM hasn't crashed since I uninstalled the flatpack-installed version of GIMP 2.10.8 (and installed a PPA served apt-get package). I did that thinking it might fix my GIMP crashes which began with 2.10.x (when I installed Lubuntu 18.04). It did fix that. But, I haven't had a PCManFM crash yet either. I should have had one by now.
If it's really the flatpack'ed GIMP causing PCManFM to crash, I'm confused why the prior version of Lubuntu I was running (17.04. Could have been 16.10) had a crashing PCManFM. I was using GIMP 2.8.x that whole time. It never crashed (although PCManFM did). It's possible I installed that GIMP from a flatpack (if GIMP served it that way back then). Maybe *flatpack* is the tie-in, and not GIMP(?). I can't think of any other way to explain it what I've experienced.
