Since the primary purpose of this report is to comment on the 0 bytes, I'm calling this invalid because I think it's somewhat of an unreasonable expectation.
What is in menu://applications is everything all the contents of application folders specified by $XDG_DATA_DIRS and $XDG_DATA_HOME. These are files confirming to the Freedesktop Desktop Entry Specification. As such, they are no more than metadata. They are not applications themselves. They are tiny little text files. Each file can specify Categories, which is the "folders" you see in pcmanfm-qt. You could have pcmanfm-qt specify the size of the application itself, but that seems a little misleading, just as it would be misleading to specify the size of the .desktop file. Regarding the other comment (p.s. don't conflate two issues in one bug report), see here: https://phab.lubuntu.me/T180 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1814350 Title: "properties" in applications shows "file size 0 bytes" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcmanfm-qt/+bug/1814350/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
