I should have also mentioned that once the program opens via the
associated file, I can also open the program via terminal or desktop
shortcut normally. As long as the program is started for the first time
after boot via the associated file, it will work normally afterwards and
can be started again via all normal ways. On the other hand, if the
program is started for the first time after boot via terminal or desktop
shortcuts, it crushes and nothing will make it work again but a reboot.
