This drivers I'm using come from the official ATI AMD website. There's no way I could run AIGLX with the official Ubuntu ATI drivers.
With the Ubuntu ATI drivers I must use XGL, and with XGL used to have the problems that I mentioned previously with GnuCash. I haven't tried the combination of official fglrx/xgl/compiz/gnucash Ubuntu packages lately. So I can't tell if the problem has been solved as to the latest official versions of the packages.
