Public bug reported:
Since the update to 2.02+dfsg1-12ubuntu2 my grub menu is no longer
visible, specifically the bios vendor splash is maintained right through
grub to plymouth. I am (perhaps) unsual in that I have the menu always
enabled:
GRUB_DEFAULT=0
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
A downgrade to 2.02+dfsg1-12ubuntu1 restores the terminal.
It looks very much like the changes in the patch below are insufficient
for the menu activation to initialise the terminal:
* debian/patches/efi-console-set-text-mode-as-needed.patch: in EFI console,
only set text-mode when we're actually going to need it.
** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
