Some updates since I last posted. I've updated to gcc-8 and enabled idle=halt. Even though idle=halt + gcc-7 with the original reprod steps can still cause a lockup. By defaulting to gcc-8 and idle=halt, in day- to-day uses, I haven't encountered any system lockup in the past 2 months. I concluded that idle=halt should mitigate this problem for normal uses. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1690085 Title: Ryzen 1800X freeze - rcu_sched detected stalls on CPUs/tasks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1690085/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
