This bug bugs me so much, that I registered to kernel bugzilla.

I tried many workarounds, nothing solved it.

Machine: ThinkPad A485 with AMD 2500U.
System:
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 19.04
Release: 19.04
Codename: disco
Kernel: Linux kni 5.0.0-13-generic #14-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 15 14:59:14 UTC 2019
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

And the problem is still there.

Have idle=nomwait kernel parameter set, but tried many others. Disabling
C6 states, everything.

I can reproduce this with 100% success by running my accounting software
Flexibee (https://www.flexibee.eu/podpora/stazeni-flexibee/) which has a
PostgreSQL backend. When it stars PostgreSQL, soft lockups start to
appear, it gives me freezes and finally the system completely freezes
after a 30 or so seconds. I can even reproduce it in VirtualBox, when
starting the software in VirtualBox, it crashes the whole system (the
host system!).

I can offer help with debugging this problem. This problem needs to go
away. It is not present on Windows as far as I know.
