I should also note that the freezes are not a separate issue relating specifically to XMMS. I have seen the freeze playing video as well. In XMMS, when the freeze occurs, the current song in the playlist will finish playing, but the next song in the playlist will not start once the freeze has occured. I have been unable to test SSH access to my machine but will do so.
