That doesn't "solve" the bug it's just a workaround. And not practical for a new/inexperienced user.
The bug remains. Also, I've been doing that (deleting .gttkrc2.0) for months now). :-) To be specific .gtkrc2.0 AND .gtk_qt_engine_rc.
