Okay, so I discovered the upstream version is doing something "similar"
to what I just proposed, but in a different and more complete way (not
suitable for a SRU for example). I explained it here:

And, because of that, I'll probably go with my suggestion (or close to
it) as a SRU for Eoan, but will keep it opened for F-series and tag this
as server-next, as it will require more attention for the next release
and sg3-utils merges.
