I have some additional observations (on regular kernel: 5.0.0-35-generic #38~18.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Mon Nov 11 09:16:10 UTC 2019 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux):
I also have a HP docking station which has its own separated built-in DAC. When laptop is connected to this docking station I can choose from following sound devices: - Digital Output (S/PDIF) - USB Audio - Analog Output - USB Audio - Speakers - Built-in Audio When I don't connect headphones I can switch between these devices and when coming back to built-in speakers the speakers usually work (however sometimes they don't). But after connecting headphones the speakers will never work again. To clarify: all previous tests I did were done on laptop disconnected from docking station. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1852067 Title: [HP ZBook Studio G5, Conexant Generic, Speaker, Internal] No sound from built-in speakers after disconnecting headphones.
