I'm not sure Windows is telling you the full truth there. Even if you tell it to prefer the Intel GPU it can't get around the fact that on most hybrid laptops if there's only one HDMI port then it will be physically wired to the secondary GPU, not Intel. Even if the Intel GPU was doing the work Nvidia would usually be handling the port itself.
