Sorry, this is my first time posting a bug and sorry for not providing enough information. Such a messy state of affairs my mind currently is. I shouldve posted the 'cat /proc/bus/input/devices' contents as well. It actually happened to previous laptop as well (Both using Ubuntu 16.04. My issue is solved by simply 'sudo apt-get upgrade', as well as as upgrading any 'kept back' packages. Thanks again, and sorry
