Hi Steve I can of course only reply on a notebook running an OS *that works*. How could I reply on a notebook that doesn't work? *I have been clear and exact on all I have replied*. I have tried to assist. I cannot do the impossible Steve. Ubuntu definitely has a problem here. Can you solve this problem or not?
Whether you can acknowledge and address this Ubuntu problem that it definitely is now or not matters to me neither. I have tried within what I could possibly be able to do to help. Perhaps this isn't enough. In any case, maybe Ubuntu is in sunset now, bootless.
