I am getting amazed by the time it takes to fix this error. It has been
going on for almost 2 months now and is affecting a lot of people. I
switched to Ubuntu some 3 months ago, but are seriously considering
going back to xp. Both because this error prohibits any normal work and
also shows how slow the error fixing process is. I am not saying that MS
are any faster, because they are not, but xp is at least stable to the
point of not freezing randomly (everyhting else in xp is crap, I agree).
Right now I am not recommending anyone to switch to Ubuntu, because of
this error.

I think whoever is looking into this (if any?) should focus on the
changes/updates made during the beta period of Gutsy (sometime mid.
Oct.), where the Compiz engine among other things where updated. This is
where the error first introduced and shortly after the X700 card was
blacklisted. Secondly someone in the forum (can not remember who)
suggested this might be rooted in the 3D video memory being filled up
and not released. This is why the Compiz engine is usually being pointed
at as it uses the 3D engine a lot.

Sorry for my outbreak, but I sincerely hope this error can be fixed
soon, so the world can be convinced that Linux and especially Ubuntu IS
a better alternative to Windows.
