Well, learning to use screen. (At first I had the impression it was doing nothing, until I discovered ^a commands). But no, I can not reproduce this bug on Hardy. To be precise, I start Applications/Accessories/Terminal as step 0 and 3.5. Also I have two screen runnings, so I need to specify which one, but screen -r list the available one. On step 5, xclock is a bit long to appears, and a message is display just before: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xclock Warning: Tried to connect to session manager, Could not open network socket
Well, the error message given by original poster: "Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: No protocol specified Error: Can't open display: :0.0" looks like what I would get if I was trying to run xclock from a virtual terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1 up to F6). But I use Applications/Accessories/Terminal instead. And I cannot easily try with virtual terminal because of bug #162400. -- Cannot connect to X server when screen is detached, then reattached https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/47033 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
