Public bug reported:

Have a simple two item chart and when I try to add rows to the data
table the columns expand.  Display the data table and try to move the
cursor to the bottom so that I can add a row and as soon as I go to the
second row two empty columns are added.  When I get to the bottom the
screen fills with empty columns.
