try "rfkill list" to list all radio devices, such as
$ rfkill list
0: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
2: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
run "rfkill block 2" to disable it, and "run kill unblock 2" to enable
it, assuming your wifi is also (2).
