So this is a duplicate of bug 1867668. To fix it just modify your Xorg
config to not load the 'intel' driver and load 'modeset' instead.
Deleting your Xorg config file should also achieve that. And if you can
also remove the package 'xserver-xorg-video-intel' to prevent it from
being accidentally used.
