Public bug reported:
$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Release: 20.04 $ apt-cache policy gnome-control-center gnome-control-center: Installed: 1:3.36.1-1ubuntu5 Candidate: 1:3.36.1-1ubuntu5 Version table: *** 1:3.36.1-1ubuntu5 500 500 http://uk-mirrors.evowise.com/ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status After updating to 20.04 I had issues reproducing sound with my bluetooth headphones. Selecting the headphones as output device in the "sound" section of the gnome control center results in playing the sound from the laptop speaker. I installed "pulse audio volume control" (package avucontrol/focal,now 4.0-1build1 amd64) and manually specified the built-in audio profile to "Off". This did the trick and I was able to reproduce sounds from my headset. Please let me know if you need more information.
