Do you refer to the "behavior" -> "Ask before emptying the Trash or deleting files"? If I turn that on, I'm showed a confirmation dialog, however, something interesting happens - it looks one, but if I move it, I find that there are two. This behavior explains the problem I'm experiencing - on Shift+Delete, two operations are initiated at the same time.
