Public bug reported:
Details of Laptop
Make - HP
Model - Spectre Folio Convertible-13
Setup - Dual-boot
I upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04 sometime back. Ubuntu 20.04 was working just
fine until the past few weeks where I have come across the following
issues.
1) Not restarting: When I start my machine - it goes on the orange
"Ubuntu" screen - and nothing happens. I have to force the shutdown and
restart. When it restarts, I go into the recovery mode - and then if I
press resume - it starts. Every time I don't take that step do from the
grub menu, it just hangs. I've tried updating packages, and grub - but
same issue
2) Screen - Earlier I could connect to an external monitor with all
settings displayed. Now that option is no longer visible therefore it
does not recognize the external monitor. "Unknown Display" is shown for
the internal display.
3) Brightness - I am unable to increase or lower the brightness on the
laptop. Likely related to (2)
I have performed the following 2 commands in terminal
[1] sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y - Installed a set of packages
but it has not resolved any of the issues mentioned.
[2] sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall - No drivers to install
