Actually I've got 20 meters of ethernet cable and that fixed it for me :P, but 
I still have the USB adaptor here, so if there is anything that I need to test 
to fix this, just tell me.
what kind of information I need to supply? I also noticed that the adaptor 
firmware is somehow limited, it doesnt support WEP, so it might be the causant 
of some problems too. (It's not FOSS btw). Just to add, at this distance I 
can't connect to the access point with Windows, however on Ubuntu, it works.
