Using Ubuntu 20.04 I can install a .deb using gnome-software (aka
Software or ubuntu-software) so no need to use the terminal.
Closing as "Invalid" as according to comment #3 this functionality has
been part of Ubuntu for some time now.
Please re-open if there is still an issue in a currently supported
release of Ubuntu, thanks.
