Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
I tried to reproduce this problem in a fresh Ubuntu Focal install by installing mysql-server-8.0 and then mariadb-server with the same commands you gave as they appear in the attached DpkgHistoryLog: apt-get install mysql-server-8.0 apt-get install mariadb-server but I couldn't: the uninstall/install went smoothly. I also couldn't spot other obvious problems in the logs you attached. There isn't really enough information here for a developer to confirm this issue is a bug, or to begin working on it, so I am marking this bug Incomplete for now. If you can provide exact steps so that a developer can reproduce the original problem, then please add them to this bug and change the status back to New. Thanks! ** Changed in: mysql-8.0 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1888780 Title: package mysql-server-8.0 8.0.20-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: el subproceso instalado paquete mysql-server-8.0 script pre-removal devolvió el código de salida de error 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-8.0/+bug/1888780/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
