This is great news !

I just tried your script, while a song was already playing, and I
instantly got sound on my speakers (both left and right).

While the script is running I can hear each side coming on. First left,
then right.

I also noticed that if switching to my bluetooth headphones, the
headphones will start, and the speakers will stop (as expected). However
when switching off my bluetooth headphones, the speaker will not work
again. But of course running the script again will restore speaker
sound. This sounds similar to the "non-sticky" behavior we experienced
for cabled headphones.

Anyway thanks a lot for the huge effort you put into this !

PS: I also run a custom Kernel with a slight variation of Mike's patch.
