This problem still exists. I just built 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon on an IBM T40, 1GB RAM that was an XP machine. Everything seems to be OK except the wireless connection. Click it and I get SIOCGIFFLAGS error: No such device. This box has been travelling with me for several years, connection all over the place so something about this configuration is wrong. Although the wired connection is fine I can't count of that for work and I need to get this fixed if I'm going to stay on Ubuntu which I'm very inclined to do. THANKS!
