Not sure if your suggestion is aimed at me Hans Joachim Desserud, but
from what i read at that link AND as you say from #2, this would come
into play?

An explicit sync is not necessary, when

    we're before DebianImportFreeze (check ReleaseSchedule) and
    our version of the package has no Ubuntu changes
    and the Debian package is in sid (in testing for LTS releases of Ubuntu) 

Hirsute is NOT in packagefreeze yet afaik
#2 indicate that no ubuntu change is necessary?
The debian package IS in sid.

I am in no way looking to be a sponsor, or something like that, and
without understanding what the difference between
sync/merge/upload/whatever is, for me to do some magic with the
"syncpackage tool" and getting it right seems likely to fail.
