I have this same problem with a fresh install of Gutsy for amd64 on an MSI megabook s270. I have another partition on the same laptop which had Feisty and which I have upgraded to Gutsy and I don´t have the problem there (this is feisty/gutsy for x86). So I guess it only happens with a fresh install. My graphics adapter is an ATI radeon XPRESS 200M
