The problem appears to be a failed sync when regenerating the initrd. Looking through the attached dmesg I see a lot of disk-related errors. This could indicate a kernel bug or potentially a hardware problem. This is not directly a problem in linux-firmware, reassigning to linux.
Have you noticed any other problems or strange behavior recently? Have you done any hardware modifications that could have resulted in something like a loose or damaged SATA cable in your machine? Did any issues start after a kernel update? ** Package changed: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1912198 Title: package linux-firmware 1.187.8 failed to install/upgrade: installed linux-firmware package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1912198/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
