yesterday which was marked as a duplicate of this one, which I agree
with.

Please advise which logs are appropriate. I can boot into one of the
"bad" kernels and collect standard logs etc. while it is running but
*before* I try touching the screen with the stylus. This would give
standard info but not necessarily pinpoint the issue.

What I would really like to know is this: if I replicate the problem
(i.e. freeze the OS), will this write appropriate diagnostic info to
some log file which is then still available after a hard reboot?
