it looks like a very recent regression, introduced by
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mozillateam/firefox/firefox.hirsute/revision/1476
?
If so, could you hand-edit /usr/bin/firefox to comment out the line that
exports MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND, and after restarting firefox confirm whether
the issue is gone?
