I tried and then gave up supporting 20.04. The reason is that only mutter 3.38 (Ubuntu 20.10) and later implements the API that the extension needs in Wayland sessions. You can load it in Xorg sessions on mutter 3.36 (Ubuntu 20.04) but that's not enough to declare official support. So that's another nail in the coffin for official support in 20.04.
You are still free to download and install the extension from source and use it in Xorg sessions on 20.04... https://gitlab.com/rastersoft/desktop-icons-ng/-/releases ** Changed in: gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926070 Title: Please backport Desktop Icons NG to 20.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/focal-backports/+bug/1926070/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
