Richard, regarding building the linux-restricted-modules against the new kerenl, the following link might help. Refer to the section "Rebuilding linux-restricted-modules". I've never actually gone through the steps listed there myself so please feel free to update the wiki if you find any errors. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compile However, you might just want to wait a few days. Hardy Alpha2 is set to come out on Dec 20th. I would imagine that the kernel team will have an updated linux-restricted-modules package that you can install by then so you don't have to go through the trouble and rebuilding by hand. But I won't make any promises :) Regardless, I'll go ahead and update this report when Alpha2 is available.
