Hello and thanks for your bug report. This log excerpt suggest that you
installed or are trying to install an unofficial or modified mysql
package:
DuplicateSignature:
package:mysql-server-8.0:8.0.25-0ubuntu0.20.04.1
Setting up mysql-server-8.0 (8.0.25-0ubuntu0.20.04.1) ...
/var/lib/dpkg/info/mysql-server-8.0.postinst: line 191:
/usr/share/mysql-common/configure-symlinks: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing package mysql-server-8.0 (--configure):
installed mysql-server-8.0 package post-installation script subprocess
returned error exit status 127
This is a case we can't support, given that we don't have control on
such packages. My suggestion here is to cleanup all the 3rd party or
modified packages (`apt remove --purge` or `dpkg -P`) and try again.
I'm marking this bug report as Incomplete for the moment. If you agree
with my analysis please change its status to Invalid (= not a bug in
Ubuntu), otherwise please explain why you believe this is a bug in
Ubuntu rather a problem specific to your system, possibly providing
steps to reproduce, change the report status back to New and we'll look
at it again. Thanks!
** Changed in: mysql-8.0 (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Incomplete
