While clarifying remaining work on (admittedly too old) bugs I found that
this isn't present (neither the bug nor the package) anymore nowadays.
Due to time that passed it would today be covered by mod_authn_dbd [1] in 
package apache2-bin.

Since it seems to work as of today [2] and the reported release being
Gutsy is way too old to consider checking/fixing it there I'll mark this
bug Won't Fix.
