Public bug reported:
Gnome Shell memory use grows over time
Memory for Gnome Shell can be around 2.5 GB, sometimes more. If I do
Alt-F2 r to restart shell, it drops to 250 MB and then slowly climbs up
again.
Occasionally it goes so high on my 16 GB machine that it swaps and
crashes.
