I have got the same problem using Hardy. Whenever I enable the Record
Sound option, record, then click to stop recording, Istanbul hangs on
the saving to disk process. You mentioned you were using PulseAudio, and
since Hardy uses PulseAudio by default, this may be the root of this
problem.
