From here we found libs that are even closer, already doing EC handling. But not yet supporting EVP which is the new high level interface via which you'd also reach ed25519 - but this still made it much closer.
We drafted a plan how to get started on this based on that and verifying in C (as all examples are in that) that we can handle the steps needed in this stack. Then we can try to wrap that through perl and use it from there.
