Jocke, no, it should not be marked as fixed. The problem occurs in hardy current. Regardless of which levels iwconfig report, I don't get any signal with iwl whereas ipw works perfectly (my AP is about 60 m away through two walls, so it's quite weak).
Also, at least network-manager does report much weaker signal strenghts with iwl, so I think that's correct, too.
