I will try the shortcut to get into a console window. no way of telnet/sshing into the "box" though.
however, i have managed to try again and wait. at some point it did switch off, and i managed to switch on and return from hibernate. very very messy and slow, I will try again after running another update of Hardy today, and report back. Seeing as there are numerous topics about suspend/hibernate issues in the forums, I would assume that there's generally still lots of things wrong with acpi/powermanagement mechanisms in ubuntu, which I think should've been fixed 2 or 3 releases ago ;-) else nobody having those problems will seriously abandon his/her windoze partition (including me). -- Hibernate doesn't work on laptop with Hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/179149 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
