It seems I have another bug on my system (Hardy is not asking for root password by trying to run root-tasks on GUI): http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=651999
That's why my "ranting" is inapropriate and I apologize. Nevertheless I would like to add, if this behavior is working as expected, then a proper error/info message and disabling the "Allow local system administrator login" option in the "security" section would be very helpful and less confusing, right? -- [Hardy 8.04 alpha-2 users groups] Can't login as root because administrative user can't change root's initial random password. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/179504 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
