Public bug reported: As mentioned in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/noble/+source/livecd- rootfs/+bug/2076307 there is a request to backport the ubuntu-core- installer project to noble. It turns out that the subiquity that is included by default on noble images is too old to support installing core. Rather than updating subiquity on all images this close to the point release, it seems safer to just override the subiquity channel for this build.
[test plan] We should build a livefs with a command like: $ start-livefs-build --livefs=~mwhudson/+livefs/ubuntu/noble/test --arch=amd64 --pocket proposed --project ubuntu-core-installer build the results into an ISO and test them. [regression potential] The proposed change https://code.launchpad.net/~mwhudson/livecd-rootfs/+git/livecd-rootfs/+merge/471666 clearly does not affect the build of any other project so at worst, ubuntu-core-installer builds continue to be broken in some way. ** Affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Michael Hudson-Doyle (mwhudson) Status: In Progress ** Also affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu Noble) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu Noble) Assignee: (unassigned) => Michael Hudson-Doyle (mwhudson) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2077495 Title: ubuntu-core-installer requires a newer subiquity on noble To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/livecd-rootfs/+bug/2077495/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
