We ideally need a minimal case that can be used as a reproducer. This bug has many different scenarios: - use mapping (but contents of /etc/samba/username_map unknown) - domain join failing (what is the joiner running, and what is the domain running?) - user authentication falling back to guest
I can say that installing 4.11, creating a samba user, and upgrading to 4.15, still works. I can still connect to the share from another machine on the network (I used 4.19.5), authenticating, and it used protocol 3.11. Can we expand on a simple example until we hit the regression? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2009858 Title: User authentication is broken with 2:4.15.13+dfsg-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/2009858/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
