I would also add this also causes additional security vulnerability.  I
have a remote dwelling that I manage, and I currently must leave the
machine logged in at the desktop so I can manage it remotely.  As long
as I don't reboot the machine this works.  Which means deferring any
security updates or kernel patches that require a reboot until I can be
physically at that location to reboot and reset a new desktop sharing
password.  That's not best practice for several reasons and makes me
very uncomfortable.
