Public bug reported:
Gradle is built with target version 8, asm is built with target level
11. Recent gradle rebuilt vendored asm classes with target level 11
causing build failures for projects using openjdk-8.
Fix plan:
- update gradle compatibility patch in asm to use source/target 8
- do no change rebuild of gradle against asm
- do no change rebuild of android-platform-external-doclava against gradle
