I have been investigating and could not really pin point a reason.
However, I know it was one of the very first PPA I added to the system
(and other Ubuntu 24.04 installs).

Whether it is related or not I am no longer able to tell, but indeed various 
programmes have issues with the mismatch between the gcc version with which the 
kernel was compiled and that shipped for the user. Here is an example where
